Twenty Tulsa Public Schools students placed in the top 10 in their events, including seven first-place finishes, in the state’s annual BMITE (Business, Marketing, and Information Technology Education) competition held in Tulsa earlier this month.

The BMITE competition is an event hosted by Oklahoma Business Professionals of America where students can demonstrate their occupational competencies while increasing their workforce readiness.

The first-place winners are:

  • Casey Hoyt of Webster Middle School in Spreadsheet Applications
  • Madilyn Muster of Webster in both Graphic Design Promotion and Human Resource Exploration
  • Aiden Banfield of Edison Middle School in Administrative Support and Word Processing
  • Liam Dobbs of Edison Middle School in Administrative Support
  • Isaiah Erwin of Edison Middle School in Administrative Support

Students from McLain High School, Central Middle School, and Hale High School also placed in the top 10 in their events.

Sixteen students qualified to compete in the national competition, marking a significant achievement that highlights the hard work and determination of Tulsa Public Schools students.

The national qualifiers will represent Tulsa Public Schools at the BPA National Leadership Conference. The competition is scheduled to take place May 6-10 in Nashville, Tennessee.
