Tulsa Public Schools is encouraging multilingual seniors to apply for recognition of their proficiency in multiple languages by graduating with the district’s Seal of Biliteracy.
Tulsa Public Schools is encouraging multilingual seniors to apply for recognition of their proficiency in multiple languages by graduating with the district’s Seal of Biliteracy. Students can apply online at www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy. The student application deadline is Friday, October 28.
The 2022-2023 school year marks the district’s fifth year of offering students the opportunity to graduate with a Seal of Biliteracy. In the first year of the program, Tulsa Public Schools was the first public school district in the State of Oklahoma to offer the Seal of Biliteracy in 11 different languages.
Since the 2018-2019 school year, 248 students earned the Tulsa Public Schools Seal of Biliteracy in both English and in other languages such as Bangla, Chinese, French, Hmong, Indonesian, Latin, Pashto, Russian, Spanish, Yoruba, Vietnamese, and Zomi.
The student application deadline is Friday, October 28; eligible students must demonstrate proficiency in more than one language. Students can visit www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy to apply.
